The Rituals That Keep Me Focused
There’s a myth
that businesspeople are always on—responding instantly, jumping from
task to task, staying “busy.” But in reality? Busyness kills focus. Rituals I
keep give me clarity.
Here are my top 5 leadership habits that anchor my week
Everybody
needs to R&R, and the weekend days are my time to reflect on what worked
last week? What didn’t? What are my real priorities this week? Then I
align my top 3 personal and business goals to ensure I have clarity before I
walk into other people's chaos at work.
Before diving into messages and emails, I take a moment to gain focus and
reflect on the challenges I've faced and how I can regain my focus. I listen to motivational podcasts, and I ask
myself, “What would make today a success? “That one habit keeps me
focused on impact, not just activity.
On
Wednesday, I pause, check, and question if I am still focused on the right
things. What do I need to adjust? This small pivot often saves big time.
On Fridays, I reflect on what I have learned, I celebrate micro-wins and I thank
the people who made progress happen. This is how we build momentum and culture.
You can’t lead other people well if you’re drained. Protect deep work blocks, take
breaks to avoid burnout out and keep digital distractions in check.
Rituals aren’t rigid, it is my freedom through my routinal structure.
It helps me lead with purpose, not be on autopilot.
